Easy Company is joined by a new recruit Willy Hogan who believes he can take care of himself. When Easy splits into teams in order to search a demolished town, Hogan goes out alone and is captured by the Nazis. They gag him to prevent him from shouting a warning to the others. When the Nazis are ready to spring their ambush, Hogan breaks loose and throws himself in the line of fire. Easy is warned in time to avoid being killed. They then act to defeat the Nazis and rescue Hogan, who learns that relying on others is important.
