Chapter 2: "When Dead Men Walk"
This story is continued in part from Challengers of the Unknown #83.
Synopsis:
Following the battle with M'Nagalah in the town of Perdition, the Challengers rush to get Prof. back to Challengers Mountain for treatment. Deadman who arrived on the scene after the battle follows them. The Challs are unable to help Prof, but Deadman is able to save his life by possessing him. While Prof recovers, the team investigates the disappearance of Alec Holland and learn that he is Swamp Thing.
The Challengers return to Perdition to find Holland. Deadman picks up the trail which leads to Philadelphia. He then takes possession of Ace in order to bring the Challs to the scene. Swamp Thing has also been possessed by the mind of Multi-Man. The Challs battle the swamp monster, but they are beaten. Deadman intervenes again by severing the link between Multi-Man and Swamp Thing. The Challs old foe is left brain damaged, while Swamp Thing returns with the team to Challengers Mountain.
