Synopsis:
Arak, having lost his will and become a priest of Artemis, is about to kill his friend Satyricus. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning strikes the grove containing the Temple of Artemis and restores Arak's mind. However, Maximus, the wizard who intends to use the satyr blood to grant himself immortality sends his soldiers to attack. While Arak fights them, the sorcerer approaches the golden bough. When he touches it with Arak's bloody axe, he will become immortal.
Tha Amazons led by Dyanna block the path of Maximus. He uses magic to turn the women into female lions and sends them to kill Arak. The Quontaukan warrior is forced to slay them to defend himself. Only Dyanna remains. To prevent Maximus from reaching the golden bough, she transforms into a lioness, jumps onto the bough, and breaks it off the tree. As a result the magic it contained disappears, robbing Maximus of his chance at immortality. Arak then beheads him. Dyanna departs. She is now the last survivor of her people.
