Synopsis:
Tex and Bob return from their trip from China and befriend Colonel Rushmore. At Rushmore's house they soon learn that a criminal known as the Ace of Spades has been making death threats. Tex and Bob are caught while the killer murders Rushmore's friend Lord Cliverook.

Tex and Bob then become targets for the killer themselves. However, Tex outwits the killer when he strikes at them inside Rushmore's home. Tex then hears a struggle and finds Rushmore's servant Ling dead in the clothes of the killer. Tex however proves that Rushmore is the real Ace of Spades and only framed Ling. With his trick exposed, Rushmore openly tries to kill Tex. He fails again which results in his arrest.
