Comments:
Pages 1-2 of this story are identical to Firestorm, the Nuclear Man #68.
This issue is labeled:"Millennium Week 5".
Doctor Fate comments that he is not the original. This is the first clear indication that Eric Strauss has taken over since Doctor Fate #4. Until now it would seem the other heroes were unaware that Fate was a different person.
Synopsis:
Members of both the old and new Justice Leagues journey into space to the Manhunter homeworld. Firestorm and Captain Atom leave the group unexpectedly. The others make their way to the planet which has been constructed to be primarily yellow.
Superman tunnels through the surface and uncovers a labyrinth of tunnels below. The heroes soon encounter Gnort, a Green Lantern who inherited his ring from his father. Hal Jordan explains to the others that Gnort is an idiot.
After leaving Gnort behind the heroes encounter a legion of Manhunter robots. They surprise the robots and destroy them before making their way to a chamber where the robots are constructed. A Manhunter known as the Highmaster is overseeing their construction. Superman destroys the robots before they can be completed. The Highmaster then leaves the planet. Without him the world being to fall apart.
The heroes make their way back to the surface and off the planet. They rejoin Captain Atom and Firestorm who have had their own adventure on the planet. Joining the two heroes are Driq, the dead Green Lantern, and Harbinger who was a prisoner of the Manhunters.
