Synopsis:
Linda Lee attends a magic show with Dick Malverne. When Linda scoffs at the magician's magic, she is invited to partake in the act. Linda steps into a magic cabinet and materializes inside an alien ship. The magician reveals herself to be an alien named Fantasta. She has kidnapped Linda because she was ordered to bring Supergirl to the planet Gotha as an initiation test for the Circle of Evil.

Supergirl attempts to flee the ship, but she has been carried into an unfamiliar section of the galaxy and can't find her way home. She returns to the ship and realizes that water neutralizes Fantasta's powers. When Supergirl defeats her, Fantasta uses an execution bird to kill herself.

Supergirl continues on to Gotha, where she intends to infiltrate the Circle of Evil disguised as Fantasta. When she arrives Supergirl's powers disappear. The Circle accepts her, then falls victim to an attack from Drang, the Destroyer. Supergirl is ordered to find and kill Drang. Without her powers or a way home, Supergirl is sent to the Purple Planet to confront Drang.
