Synopsis:
Hector Thwistle, an amateur inventor, brings his new gadgets to the Daily Planet to show them to the staff. The gadgets are silly and malfunction forcing Superman to protect bystanders. After the failed presentation, Clark Kent approaches Thwistle and enlists him to help stop con artist Joe Jipper.

Clark disguises himself, then convinces Jipper that he wants to buy Thwistle's inventions. Jipper then buys the inventions from Thwistle so that he can resell them, but he finds out they don’t work. The con artist fell for the con.

Jipper then visits Thwistle lab and gets more inventions from the inventor. This time Jipper uses the gadgets to commit crimes. Superman apprehends them, then Clark helps Thwistle get a job as part of a comedy act.
