Comments:
This story is continued in part from Challengers of the Unknown #59.
Red Ryan is restored to life in this story after temporarily becoming the villain Seekeenakee.
Synopsis:
When the Challengers attempt to find Seekeenakee, they are attacked by a lizard man. As the fight concludes, the lizard man changes into a phoenix and flies away. The Challs then realize that Seekeenakee is a shapeshifter.
The Challengers return to the headquarters to check on Multi-Man whom they initially believe is Seekeenakee. The villain is still in his cell next to Kra and the Volcano Man, so the Challs question him. They learn that Multi-Man gave his formula to another man, so they focus on finding the formula components to track down their foe. Multi-Man however does not tell the team who the man he was.
The heroes visit a frozen nitrox manufacturer and soon encounter Seekeenakee. Prof concocts an antidote and uses it on his foe. Seekeenakee changes back to human form, and the Challs learn that he is a mentally deranged Red Ryan. After a long battle, Red is restored to normal and rejoins the team.
