Synopsis:
Emmett Pride has gotten married. He lives with his mother, but because she has never approved of any woman he met, he did not invite her to the wedding. Emmett keeps his wife, Irene in a room upstairs. Even though they live in the same house, Emmett's mother and Irene have never met.

When Emmett's cousin Mark comes to stay with him for a few days, Emmett forces him to stay downstairs. He fears that Mark will steal Irene from him. While at work, Emmett learns that Mark will be returning to the house early. He rushes home and gets in a fist fight with Mark. Emmett's mother calls the police. When the police arrive, they discover that Emmett is mad. Irene never existed.
