The Janus Directive, Part 1

This story continues in Suicide Squad #27.

Synopsis:
Agents of Checkmate apprehend Warwick, a hitman, when he arrives in Washington for an assignment. They then send Knight Ray Carson to pose as Warwick at a meeting. A masked assassin known as Bishop tries to kill Carson, but he fails.

The next day Carson, still disguised as Warwick, meets with mob boss Crazy Horse Sharpo. Once again Warwick is targeted by the armored assassin. Carson and Bishop fight on the edge of a pier. During the fight, Bishop is hit by a shell which causes his armor to catch fire. He jumps into the water and does not resurface.

Back at Checkmate headquarters Amanda Waller brings Bronze Tiger and Bridgette D'Abo of Project: Peacemaker to meet Harry Stein. She declares that the entire intelligence community is about to enter a war.
