Synopsis:
Attempting to escape magically from prison, Felix Faust accidentally creates a duplicate of himself whose eventual disappearance will destroy the universe. Since not even he can tell which is the double and which is the true Faust, he enlists the aid of Superman, Batman, Flash, and Green Lantern to do so before time runs out.
The super-heroes battle menaces created by the two magicians in an effort to find clues to the identity of the true sorcerer. Superman and Flash are pitted against a troll, a leprechaun, and other mythical creatures, while Batman and Green Lantern are plagued by mischievous dryads and sylphides. When each team thinks it had detected the fake Faust. Snapper Carr solves the dilemma. He reports that both Fausts are phonies, since he had just seen the true villain in prison. The Justice League takes the two duplicates to the cell of their foe, who banishes them before they can vanish of their own accord and wipe out the universe.
