Comments:
Most of this story is imaginary, taking place only as a hallucination of Jimmy Olsen.
Synopsis:
Jimmy joins Lana Lang and her father on an archaeological expedition. He uncovers a chest containing a volcanic rock. Professor Lang warns him that it may be related to Pandora's Box. Jimmy scoffs at the supernatural myth.
Later, Jimmy sees demons which cause him to crash his car. Professor Lang is killed in the accident. Jimmy begins to believe in the evil legend. Superman takes him to Kandor, where Jimmy then accidentally smashes the city of Kandor. Lori Lemaris then tries to cure Jimmy in Atlantis, but another accident results in the destruction of the underwater city.
Jimmy is now convinced of the legend. He becomes possessed by the demons, who force him to corrupt Superman. The demons then restore Jimmy's mind, and he realizes the evil acts that he is responsible for.
Finally Jimmy is awakened by Professor Lang. The archaeologist explains that the volcanic rock caused him to hallucinate. Jimmy, pleased that his friends are not dead, summons Superman to destroy the rock.
