Synopsis:
Ted Knight pays a visit to Dinah Drake Lance in Park City. While her husband is away investigating a series of strange robberies, Dinah makes dinner plans with Ted. She gives Ted a flower, which he takes with him while he conducts experiments on his cosmic rod. Ted hears a voice emitted from the flower. He investigates as Starman and discovers a man has been hypnotized into turning his money over to some crooks. Starman's cosmic rod is disabled, so he tries to stop the robbery with his fists. The crooks escape, but the flower leads him back to Dinah's shop.
Starman and Dinah's husband Larry discover that Dinah has been hypnotized and her flowers are responsible for hypnotizing the robbery victims. They witness her report to an unknown boss, then tell her what she has done. The trio then splits up to track down the crooks.
Dinah, as Black Canary, and Starman both capture members of the gang, preventing robberies. Larry trails the crooks to their hideout, but he is captured by the criminal mastermind, the Mist. Starman and Black Canary come to Larry's rescue. The Mist has devised a method to nullify Starman's cosmic rod and easily overcomes him. However, Black Canary is equipped with a miniature cosmic rod of her own. She delays the Mist until Starman recovers and destroys the Mist's devices. Starman then defeats his old foe, and Larry is rescued.
