Synopsis:
Superboy is confronted by a masked criminal called the Mechano Master. The villain possesses powerful weapons capable of harming even the Boy of Steel. Superboy is forced to be humiliated by the Mechano Master for fear the crook will set off explosions in Smallville.

Superboy is finally able to corner Mechano Master inside his flying fortress. Superboy unmasks his opponent and discovers that the villain is an adult Lex Luthor. Luthor explains that he used a time ray to send Superman's Fortress back in time to when the sun was red. A malfunction caused Luthor and the Fortress to be sent to Superboy's time. Using the weapons in the Fortress, Luthor was able to battle the Boy of Steel.

Superboy repairs the Fortress and sends it back to the proper time with Lex. Superboy and Lex are both exposed to amnesium gas, causing them both to forget the entire encounter.
