Part 2: "The Battle of the Undersea Giants"
This issue features two DC artists sent to draw the adventures of the Sea Devils. The artists that appear in this story must be the Earth-1 counterparts to the real artists. Readers are also invited to vote for their favorite artist.
Synopsis:
The Sea Devils attend a big sea carnival with artist Irv Novick. The carnival is disrupted by an undersea battle between Neptune and Hercules. Hercules has attacked Neptune in order to please Zeus and attain full godhood. The demigod has grown to giant size and can breathe underwater with a unique form of seaweed.
The Sea Devils fear that if Hercules defeat Neptune, the seas will become dangerous. They decide to intervene choosing to aid Neptune by delaying Hercules, who has just a single day to win his challenge. The Sea Devils successfully delay Hercules until nightfall, but the demigod is angered and attacks them. However, when Hercules defeats a sea serpent, the Sea Devils applaud him, and he receives the carnival award for his feat. The sentiment quells the demigods anger, and he leaves peacefully.
