Synopsis:
While attending a South American carnival, the Blackhawks become involved in a mystery as a thief begins stealing the masks from various carnival-goers. The Blackhawks track the mask to a costume shop and discover that there were four identical masks. As the Blackhawks track down another of the masks, the thief strikes again.

Blackhawk then returns to the costume shop where the shopkeeper's assistant has been knocked out by his boss, Emil. Blackhawk realizes that Emil is part of a smuggling operation. With a tip from the assistant, Blackhawk tracks down Mr. Rinaldo, the leader of the smugglers, who was smuggling jewels in the masks. The valuable mask was then accidentally sold to a random customer, prompting the crooks to steal the masks in order to get the jewels back.
