Synopsis:
Professor J.J. Exell plans to hoax the world with a fake trip to the moon. Suspecting a trick, Rip and the Boy Commandos board Exell's rocket as it takes off. Exell and the Commandos are unable to exit the ship and actually succeed in landing on the moon. They meet a race of moon men, who tell the Earthlings tales of their atomic war with Mars. The moon men have now moved underground and forsaken war.

Exell steals one of the moon men's weapons and attempts to flee back to Earth. He shoots Rip and freezes him before Brooklyn and the others can disarm and capture him. The moon men then turn the weapon on Exell and freeze him. The boys take Rip's body back to Earth where the Earth's atmosphere revives him. When they return, no one believes the Commandos' story, having learned that Exell's trip was a planned hoax.
