Synopsis:
Superman asks Supergirl to follow some crooks because he is unable to get away in his Clark Kent identity. Supergirl trails the bandits and leads Superman to them. On the way back to the orphanage, a scientist and his wife are blinded by a comet. Supergirl is also affected by the comet, which had red kryptonite particles in it.
Supergirl awakens from the encounter with the comet with a slight memory loss. She travels to Smallville where she meets the couple blinded by the comet, the Evans’. Forgetting her Linda Lee identity, Supergirl takes the name, Gloria Smith, and serves as their nurse.
During her stay in Smallville, Supergirl performs super deeds in front of the people. The people are happy that they have someone like Superboy around. The Evans’ recover from their blindness and learn that Supergirl was their nurse.
Superman uses his telescopic vision and sees that Supergirl is saving the town from a robot. He realizes what has happened, so he gets a container of Gas Z "Amnesia Gas". He sprays the town to make them forget about Supergirl’s existance. The effects of the kryptonite wear off, and Supergirl returns to Midvale having also forgotten the entire experience.
