Synopsis:
When the JLA satellite's teleport beam is intercepted by a Zeta-beam from the planet Rann, Flash, Green Lantern, and Hawkman suddenly find themselves on Adam Strange's adopted world. While Superman joins them to combat a menace there, Green Arrow and Atom are attacked at a benefit concert.

Johnny Dune, a black Viet Nam veteran, has returned from overseas and become a pop music star, but is betrayed in his attempt to enter politics as a mayoral candidate. In revenge, he uses his newly discovered mutant vocal powers to control the minds of his audiences and turn them against the established order, and it is this menace that Green Arrow and Atom face.

Joined by Batman and Black Canary, the JLA heroes are captured by Dune's thralls. When his control wavers and the group begins to form an uncontrollable mob, Dune sees the error of his ways and ends the riot by turning his followers against himself. The Justice League rushes him to a hospital in time to save his life, but his mutant power is destroyed.
