Synopsis:
The Boy Commandos are sent to the far north to map uncharted rivers. During the trip Alfy finds a gold nugget, so the boys begin panning for gold. The villainous Pierre Luvalle, a local woodsman, sees the boys and tries to steal their claim. Luvalle's rival Phillipe Perrault helps the boys, who then share the claim with Perrault and his family.

The boys finally abandon their claim in order to return home with their maps. They find that the excess gold was caused rapid inflation in the area. They are forced to spend their entire findings to pay for food, returning home with nothing but their maps.
