Synopsis:
When Andrew Bennett begins playing the flute of Krishna the universe ceases to exist. Then, he and Doctor Fate are present together in the void. Bennett is angry because he wanted to die. suddenly an arc of light resembling a smile opens before them. Then witness the recreation of the universe, before being returned to the countryside of India.
Fate's companions are aware that the universe momentarily winked out of existence, but they are not aware of what Doctor Fate and Bennett saw. The Lords of Order demand that Bennett continue playing to finish the Mahapralaya. But when the vampire tries to play, no sound emerges. The Lords of Order depart.
With the threat over, Typhon turns against his allies breaking the temporary truce. He fights Doctor Fate, but is ultimately defeated and removed from the body of Jack Small. Fate and Bennett then exchange words. Bennett is finally at peace and allows the sunrise to consume his body. Fate's energies have been drained during the fight, forcing him and his companions to begin the long trip home on foot.
