Synopsis:
Maxima comes to Earth in search of Superman. She is accosted by a street gang, so the alien woman kills their leader and forces the others to join her service. She next visits a high-end clothing store to adorn herself in Earth clothing. Next she visits the Daily Planet. When Lois Lane informs her that she doesn't know where Superman is, Maxima paralyzes everyone in the city room.
Clark arrives at work a few minutes later and snaps his co-workers out of the trance. Maxima is gone, but she did not go far. Now, she has provided armor for her street gang who begin inflicting carnage at the mayor's office. Superman goes into action and stops the armored gang. Maxima and her assistant, Sazu, are surprised when Superman does not kill them.
When Superman and Maxima meet face-to-face, she uses her mental powers to hold him back. Sazu believes that Superman is not worthy of Maxima prompting a battle of wills between the aliens. Maxima explodes, while Sazu is rendered unconscious. Superman is confused by what has taken place.
Meanwhile, the real Maxima, safely aboard her space ship, notes the loss of her simulacrum. She vows to visit Earth herself to make Superman hers.
