Synopsis:
The Spectre senses evil in Smallville. On the outskirts of town he finds a crashed Manhunter space ship surrounded by the townspeople and Superman. The youth of Smallville were under Manhunter control, but now they are dead because their Manhunter leader, a robot double of Doc Whitney, was destroyed.
The Spectre proposes a way to save the souls of the dead. Superman puts himself at risk to enter the spiritual limbo in which the young people now reside. Inside the spirit world, Superman is confronted by Whitney's double. With the Spectre's help he is destroyed again. The young townspeople and Superman then awaken back in the real world. The young people including Lana Lang are left with no memories of their involvement with the Manhunters.
