The Nightshade Odyssey Part 3
This story is continued from Suicide Squad #15.
Synopsis:
When the Nightshade dimension erupts into chaos, Eve is able to use her powers to create a portal to blindly transport the Suicide Squad to another dimension. They arrive in the Zero Zone and find themselves surrounded by monsters. Eve slips into a coma and is unable to help them. With the Succubus removed, June Moone is also powerless.
The Squad is rescued by the appearance of Rac Shade, a hero from the Meta Zone who has been trapped in the Zero Zone since the Crisis on Infinite Earths. Using his M-Vest, Shade is able to link with the comatose Nightshade and return everyone to Earth. He then immediately makes to leave, but Waller demands that he stay and explain himself. Shade bows to her authority and joins the team.
Shade explains that a criminal from the Meta Zone named Dr. Z.Z. has taken over the Meta outpost on Earth, the Occult Research Center. The Suicide Squad and Shade track down Z.Z. and defeat him. Wizor, the head of the Occult Research Center, wants to take Shade into custody also since he is a wanted man in the Meta Zone. However, Shade elects to leave with the Suicide Squad instead of turning himself in.
