Major Arcana Story One
This story continues in Spectre #13.
Synopsis:
Jim Corrigan and Kim Liang discover Madame Xanadu's parlor in disarray. Xanadu explains that she performed a tarot reading for a stranger that was contradictory. When he departed, the chaos remained. As she attempts to reestablish order, Corrigan, Liang, and the Spectre are dispatched to locate three magic items that have disappeared.
The first item is a demon figurine holding a crystal. The object is found by a small-time pickpocket named Willie. The demon comes to life and helps him steal. When he learns that the demon will kill him, Willie flees.
Corrgian and his companions find Willie and try to protect him. The demon enters Kim's apartment and succeeds in killing Willie. The tiny demon then becomes human-sized, emerging from the corpse. He then engages the Spectre in battle. The Spectre traps the demon in the crystal orb. The group then sets out to find the other two items.
