Synopsis:
The Atom visits the hospital where Dr. Anton Kraft was taken following injuries sustained during his meeting with Humbug. Atom finds Darwin Jones and psychologist Annetta Kaplan using a strange device on Kraft. Kraft's doctor tries to stop them, but they claim to have government clearance. Before the Atom can get the full story, Humbug attacks.
The Atom chases Humbug through the hospital where the villain has planted multiple bodies into which he can switch. Eventually Jone and Kaplan explain that they, along with Kraft and other scientists, created a computer which linked their minds called Gestalt. A rogue element in the computer was found and isolated which became Humbug. The Atom finally succeeds in destroying all of Humbug's bodies at the hospital. Jones assures him that Gestalt is now free of the rogue influence, and Kaplan extends an offer for Dr. Palmer to join the group. He refuses.
