Comments:
This story takes place concurrently with Legends #5 and continues in Fury of Firestorm #59.
Ruby Jones becomes the Parasite in the Post-Crisis universe, not Max Jensen.
Synopsis:
The remains of Brimstone are taken to S.T.A.R. Labs to be studied. The residual radioactive material is removed and stored under guard. A janitor named Ruby Jones believes the toxic waste drum really contains the company payroll. He breaks in and opens the drum, exposing himself to the radioactivity inside. Jones becomes the Parasite who is capable of siphoning off energy from other people.
The Parasite attacks lab employees and the visiting former senator Walter Reilly. Firehawk goes into action to protect her father, but the Parasite absorbs her power and memories. He learns that Firestorm possesses more power, so he flies to Pittsburgh to fight him.
Ronnie Raymond learns that S.T.A.R. Labs was attacked. He joins with Professor Stein to confront the villain. Firestorm and Parasite battle inside a steel mill. The Parasite prevails by stealing energy from Firestorm. The Nuclear Man reverts back to Ronnie and Stein who become easy targets for the villain.
