Synopsis:
After sinking an enemy destoyer, Capt. Storm returns to port. He visits the "Lame Duck" ward at the hospital where patient Mickey Brand has dragged down morale. Storm is unable to convince Brand that wounded vets can still be useful. Nurse Lea convinces the admiral to send Brand with Storm on his next shakedown mission. Despite Storm's past experience, Brand still can't accept that injured G.I.s are useful.
The PT boat then encounters an enemy ship and fighter. The fighter is shot down, and the pilot is brought aboard as a prisoner. When Storm is about to fire his last torpedo, the prisoner jumps him. Both men land on the torpedo which is then fired at the enemy ship. Storm throws his opponent off, so the torpedo can maintain course and destroy the ship. Brand witnesses Storm's battle and changes his mind about the Captain and other wounded G.I.s including himself.
