Synopsis:
Ralph Dibny visit the mining town of Powderkeg. When he checks the local newspaper, he learns that the town believes the Elongated Man is really Abner Trotter, a local boy. Ralph questions the newspaper editor to learn the whole story. Powderkeg is controlled by the ruthless Morton brothers. The editor changed the stories about Elongated Man, because he knew Ralph would come to town to check on the mine. He wanted Ralph to help defeat the brothers without tipping the crooks off.

Abner Trotter is captured by the Mortons, since they believe him to be the Elongated Man. Ralph disguises himself and takes Abner's place. He then starts a fight with the Mortons, allowing one of them to escape. Abner follows the man to the location where the brothers have hidden a bomb. Abner beats the last crook and stops the bomb, which the Mortons had been using to hold the town hostage.
