Synopsis:
Green Arrow attends an exhibition of jewels with superstitious legends surrounding them. The newly acquired Hiputa Ruby is stolen. Green Arrow pursues the thief only to learn that he died under mysterious circumstances.

The ruby changes hands several times, killing the owners. Green Arrow later finds it in the icebox of a dead museum curator. When Speedy handles the ruby, he almost dies. After it is stolen again, Green Arrow discovers the ruby's secret. Inside is a poison gas that escapes when held by warm hands. He splits the ruby, forever ending the curse, and Speedy recovers.
