Synopsis:
Millionaire collector Balthazar T. Balthazar begins a collection of super-hero secret identities. His first target is Batman. The Collector feeds data to a computer, which determines that Bruce Wayne is Batman. Seeking absolute proof, Balthazar hire criminal Nick Cathcart to break into a doctor's office to steal Bruce's medical records. The records confirm the Collector's hypothesis, but he desires more proof.
Disguised as a beggar, the Collector is able to plant a homing device on Batman and follow him around the city. The tracker shows him at Wayne Manor, where Batman discovers the device. Batman then contacts Hawkman and gives him the tracking device to throw off pursuit.
Balthazar then suspects that Carter Hall is Batman. When Hawkman appears, the Collector wonders if Hall is both Batman and Hawkman. That theory is proved wrong when both heroes appear together. Balthazar then uses truth serum on both heroes. However, they have switched costumes give Balthazar incorrect information. The drug then triggers the heroes to fight each other in an attempt to unmask each other. Fortunately the drug wears off without giving the Collector any more information.
Convinced that he finally has the truth that Carter Hall is Batman and Bruce Wayne is Hawkman, the collector returns home. Cathcart then double-crosses his boss, intending to use the information for crime. Batman and Hawkman show up to arrest the pair. In the process they trick the Collector into believing Hawkman is an alien named Krog and that Batman is an ex-con named Carl Morgan. Both Balthazar and Cathcart are sent to prison without the knowledge of the real secret identities.
