Synopsis:
Patrolman Steve Jackson nearly captured a gang of crooks, but one of the gang he didn't see knocks him out. Sue Dibny convinces the Elongated Man to take her to the wax museum rather than investigate the case. At the museum, Ralph notices that several of the statues have altered faces. He then finds the curator being attacked.
After being rescued by Ralph, the curator identifies one of the altered faces as his attacker. Ralph suspects a connection to the crooks that escaped from Jackson. When he brings Jackson to the museum the faces are melted, and they find Pittsburgh Phil, a counterfeiter.
Phil has been beaten, but gives them a clue. Ralph and Jackson track down the gang by following the clue and arrest them. Phil had created the phony faces on the statues to draw attention to the gang. They framed him during a past crime, so he was getting even. The gang discovered him and melted the faces, but the detective work of the Elongated Man prevailed.
