Chapter 4

This story takes places several years after the death of Shalako.

A fictitious article entitled "Religion in Ancient Atlantis and Its Worldwide Impact (Part 1)" follows this story.

Synopsis:
Bazil, the betrothed of Orin's daughter Cora, retrieves shark teeth to make a necklace for Cora's birthday. He has not seen Cora in years and is not truly interested in her. Then he sees her. She has grown into a beautiful young woman, and Bazil falls in love with her. Then plan to marry.

Meanwhile in Tritonis, Dardanus resurfaces after years of hiding with the help of magistrate Stearn. Orin who is ruling both cities now welcomes Shalako's son back. However, a fight between Dardanus and Bazil leads to a temporary exile. Dardanus takes his revenge by raping Cora before her wedding. She becomes pregnant with his child.
