Comments:
This story, which takes place on February 24-25, 1950, is continued from Blackhawk #10 and continues in Blackhawk #12.
Synopsis:
Lady Blackhawk leads Blackhawk out of the Vault through several armed guards. The other Blackhawks also escape. The two groups join forces and steal a helicopter to complete the escape. Once in the air, Lady Blackhawk tells the others about Grundfest's original plan to kill them and replace the team with doppelgangers. Andre deduces that Lady Blackhawk herself was Grundfest's first experiment.
While Grundfest was not able to complete the transference of the Blackhawk's identities onto more controllable men, the team has been replaced by imposters who are now operating on an island base dubbed Blackhawk Island. The team contacts Mairzey and plans to raid the island.
