Slam wonders if the police made a fast recovery, but he soon deduces that the indians have been replaced by costumed crooks. Slam and Shorty are again defeated and locked inside two hollow indians. They are given guns which will fire at a building across the street. Slam tips over his indian to prevent the gun from hitting its target. He and Shorty then apprehend the cigar store owner who is the gang's boss. He was blackmailing two businessmen in the building across the street and using the guns to scare them.
