For his 30th birthday, Ralph Dibny returns to his hometown, Waymore, Nebraska. The community is very rural and their mayor is Ralph's brother Ken who was a former football star. Wally West also stops in to visit with Ralph, who feels that he is being ignored by his family and friends. He slips away from the party for a time and shares his origin story with Wally. Sue Dibny and Ken finally convince Ralph that he has been acting weird and should return to the party. Ralph is surprised to learn that the town is proud of him, but they have trouble relating to him because he is weird. Ralph spends them rest of the party trying to act normal and assimilate to the community.
