"The Many Deaths of the Batman" Chapter Three
This story is continued from Batman #434.
Synopsis:
Following an attempt on his life, Bruce Wayne has been put under police protection. Alfred distracts the police to give Bruce a chance to become Batman. In the Bat-Cave, Batman deduces the killer's motives and creates a list of potential victims. The targets are all men who were responsible for training Batman as an expert in their fields of study.
When the coroner discovers that one of the victims was already dead when his body was blown up, Batman deduces that the supposed victim is really the killer, Fredrick Stone. Batman then stops Stone from killing his next two intended victims. In doing so, he eventually apprehends the killer, who had deduced that he himself had once trained the Batman in the use of explosives.
