Synopsis:
Phobos and Euryale have set a trap for Hermes. They steal his caduceus and use it to free Ixion the Assassin, the first mass murderer whom Hermes had imprisoned in Tartarus. Ixion then emerges onto the streets in Boston and begins killing people. The giant holds Hermes, who has been weakened and is unable to fight back.
Hermes uses the last of his strength to contact Wonder Woman. She comes to the Olympian's aid and carries Ixion into an unpopulated area. In the process, the giant drops Hermes who then regains his caduceus from Euryale after beheading her. With renewed strength, Hermes subdues Ixion.
With Tartarus unreachable due to the cosmic migration of the gods, Hermes plans to imprison the killer under Paradise Island making the Amazons guardians of evil once again. Wonder Woman objects. The debate is ended when Ixion charges into the oncoming fire of military aircraft and is killed. Wonder Woman's blind faith and obedience to Hermes is weakened. She then apologizes to Julia for letting the god come between them.
