Synopsis:
At an experimental atomic research station near the Pacific Coast, an accident occurs which evolves a tiger shark into a super-humanoid. The shark-man is endowed with telekinetic and telepathic abilities. He is motivated by a driving force to seek prey. He disguises himself as a human, Mr. Smith, and visits Coast City. He has an encounter with the heavyweight champion, Bill Bowery. Bowery is overcome by the fear the Shark has put into him. Unsatisfied by his easy victory, the Shark locates Green Lantern who is worthy prey.
Mentally, the Shark contacts Hal Jordan and informs him of his presence. Hal returns to the Ferris hangar to charge his ring as Green Lantern. The Shark turns the hangar yellow and traps GL. Protected by a invisible yellow barrier, the shark challenges Green Lantern. GL is only barely able to stay even with his opponent.
Then the Shark imprisons Coast City in a dome which he will use as a hunting reserve. The dome was an attempt to weaken GL by making him fear for his friends, but instead it increased his drive to win. Lantern is able to create a giant iceberg from the water in the air. He uses the iceberg to knock out the Shark. Finally he devolves the Shark to his original form and imprisons him in an aquarium.
