Synopsis:
Slam and Shorty prevent a woman from being kidnapped, but the intended victim then disappears. They follow clues to the home of H.W. Erich, a wealthy man. On the way they are ambushed by crooks. They eventually reach their destination and learn that the woman is Marda Erich, H.W.'s daughter. Slam and Shorty are invited to dinner. Then begin to suspect that Marda's bodyguard Billings and her brother Paul are involved in the kidnapping plot.
Slam and Shorty stop another kidnapping attempt. This time they catch the crooks who are part of the Peroni Mob. With the gang apprehended, the plot is foiled, and the villains exposed. Paul Erich owed Peroni money from gambling debts, so he set up his sister for ransom. As Slam suspected, Billings the bodyguard was also involved.
