Synopsis:
Former big city racketeer Wiley Graft has set himself up as Mayor in the small town of Mudgeton. When a rumor, started by Graft, gets blown out of proportion crooks arrive in town to rob Hermit Skinner, Stretch's uncle. Hermit calls Stretch who comes to Mudgeton with Wildcat to help. As Wildcat and Stretch chase the crooks, they uncover Grift's criminal past. Grift tries to dispose of the pair, but his plan fails. Wildcat apprehends the crooks and Grift, who then discovers that his own rumor ruined him.
