Synopsis:
Slam and Shorty stumble upon a murder scene. When they summon the police, Sergeant Gage places them under arrest as the killers. A car crash allows the detectives to escape custody. They return to the murder scene looking for clues to help clear their names. The real killer has also returned. He flees, but leaves behind a clue for Slam to follow.

The clue leads to the killers next victim, but Slam and Shorty arrive too late. The police continue to suspect them as the killers. Shorty finds another clue leading to Geraldine Ryan, an heiress. Shorty replaces Geraldine when the real killer arrives. He gets away, but Slam is able to follow him.

Slam and Shorty find the killers hide-out, but are ambushed. The killer taunts them while they try to escape his trap. Slam manages to pull the killer into the trap too. After Slam beats the crook, the police arrive. Sergeant Gage then clears the detectives of the crimes.
