Synopsis:
Slam and Shorty interrupt an attempted mugging in the street. However, Slam mistakenly knocks out the victim, hotel owner Cyrus Painter. When Painter recovers he threatens to sue Slam. Instead Slam offers to help him solve a mystery that plagues one of Painter's hotels, a ghost.
Slam and Shorty become bellhops working in the hotel. They soon encounter several bizarre incidents. Shorty begins believing that the hotel is really haunted, but Slam finds evidence of human involvment. Eventually both Slam and Shorty are captured by a mad doctor in the hotel. When they are both significantly scared, the doctor reveals himself as Painter, the hotel owner. All the supernatural incidents were part of a practical joke played at Slam's expense. The detectives are released and leave in peace.
