Synopsis:
Robin is kidnapped from his room on the campus of Hudson University. A note is sent to Bruce Wayne challenging the Batman to rescue him. Batman returns to the original Bat-Cave to examine the note for clues. Inside he finds Ra's Al Ghul, leader of an organization, and the father of Talia whom Batman has previously met. Ra's has deduced Batman's true identity and has come seeking his help to find Talia, who was also abducted.
Batman follows clues to Calcutta. Ra's and his bodyguard Ubu join the hunt. Batman is attacked several times, but his keen senses, sharp mind and tremendous physical skills allow him to escape the danger. The trail then leads to the Himalayas. After the trio of searchers begin a perilous climb, a sniper takes aim. Ra's is apparently hit before Batman takes out the shooter.
Batman the arrives at a mountain stronghold guarded by Brothers of the Demon. He walks right passed the guards who only offer token resistance. Inside he finds Robin. He then explains that he deduced from the start that the search was nothing more than a game. Ra's was behind the entire challenge. He then learns the reason. Ra's was testing him to ensure his worthiness to marry his daughter.
