Part 2: "The Vengeance of Loki"
This story features the first appearance of Asgard. Odin, Balder and Tyr appear in only a single panel.
Loki escapes from his long imprisonment inside a tree in Asgard.
Thor's hammer is said to be made from Uru.
Synopsis:
Imprisoned within a tree in the magical city of Asgard, Loki the god of mischief plots his escape. After centuries, Loki has gained control of the tree. He uses this control to shed a leaf while Heimdall is passing by. The leaf gets in Heimdall's eye causing him to shed a tear. The tear breaks the spell which kept Loki imprisoned. Loki then takes the rainbow bridge Bifrost to Earth in search of revenge against Thor.
On Earth, Loki causes mischief in a crowd of people in order to draw out Thor. His plan works, and Thor appears. Loki then reveals himself and hypnotizes his foe. Even though Thor is now under his control, Loki fears that Thor's hammer may still represent a danger. He uses his wits to get Thor to put down the hammer. This causes Thor to revert into his Don Blake form.
As Don Blake, Thor is freed from Loki's hypnosis. He takes back the hammer and becomes Thor again. He then chases Loki around the city until he finally succeeds in capturing him. Thor then attaches Loki to his hammer and throws him back to Asgard.
