Synopsis:
Adam Blake is born while a comet passes in the sky above. As he progresses through childhood and into adolescence, Adam discovers that he has a photographic memory and telekinetic powers. He is also a physical and mental prodigy. When Adam reaches adulthood, he approaches physicist Emery Zackro who tests Adam. Following the tests, the professor explains to Adam that he is an evolutionary mutation and possesses the abilities of future mankind.
While Adam ponders how he should use his abilities, crooks raid Zackro's lab. They want to steal a machine which Adam has perfected that creates gold from sunlight. Adam defeats the crooks using his powers of mind over matter. He then decides to keep his abilities hidden and to secretly aid humanity.
When a giant alien top lands on Earth, signaling an impending invasion, Adam dons a costume and goes into action as Captain Comet.
