Synopsis:
Tex Thomson and Bob Daley visit Sung-Wei, a city in the far east. They check into their hotel, then hear a scream. They follow the noise to another room where a man is being operated on by Dr. Kichung. The doctor is transplanting the brains of men into the bodies of apes.

Tex tries to interfere with Kichung's experiments. The doctor then orders one of his apes to take Tex to another building for confinement. Tex and Bob escape, then they rescue Alicia Stockton, a missionary and fellow captive of the doctor. Kichung tries to stop them again, but the trio manage to reach the river before the ape servants can reach them.
