Synopsis:
Matt Savage helps another trail boss, Hub Madden, rescue his cattle from a stream. The owner of the cattle, rancher John Freely, invites Matt to a party, while his men go into town. Word reaches Matt that his men have gotten into a fight. Lute, Jim, and Clay are all put in jail after they caught some of Freely's men cheating at cards.
Matt returns to camp with Billy Armstrong, a young cowhand who loves Freely's daughter. They learn that Red and Abe were attacked while on watch. Matt follows the attackers tracks which leads to a trap. Matt survives and captures Hub Madden and Freely's foreman Jed Bowman. The pair had planned to kill Matt and steal his herd. Matt takes them back to town, earning Freely's thanks once again. His men are then released from jail and allowed to return to the trail.
