Comments:
Vol-Don and Varn of the Kandorian Look-a-Like Squad are named in this story. Vol-Don is the double of the adult Clark Kent, while Varn is his son, a double of Superboy.
Synopsis:
A young boy named Varn arrives in Smallville and taunts Jonathan Kent with the knowledge that he knows Clark's secret identity. The Kents are forced to take the boy in as he blackmails them with the threat of revealing Clark's secret. Clark tries to hypnotize Varn, causing him to forget what he knows, but the trick doesn't work.
Eventually Varn reveals that he has super powers too. He removes a mask which demonstrates his real appearance is identical to Superboy's. Varn then takes Superboy on a trip to the future where he reveals that he is a member of the Kandorian Look-a-Like Squad. He travelled to the past to create a memorable experience for Superboy. Then with Superboy's consent, he tests an experimental mento-eraser to erase the Boy of Steel's memory of Varn's visit. The test succeeds. When Superboy returns to his own time, he has forgotten Varn's entire visit.
