Vic Munster, a mobster, learns of the hooded man, dubbed the Rainbow Raider because of a rainbow jewel on his hood. Vic lures the Raider to a gem show, where he proposes a partnership. The Raider refuses, which causes Vic’s mob to capture him. Superboy arrives to rescue the Raider, who was a ploy used by the police and the Boy of Steel to lure Vic into the open. After Vic is caught, Superboy carrys the Rainbow Raider home because it is really a disguised Jonathan Kent.
